Learn the Art of Scything with Handpowered
Join Vale Local Nature Partnership for a practical scything course led by Handpowered, which will cover set-up, mowing technique and maintenance of the Austrian scythe.
Suitable for beginners and improvers, you will be given the technical knowledge to allow you to scythe a variety of vegetation types easily and effectively.
During the course we will discuss the fragile ecological balance required of a wildflower meadow and the annual cycle involved in managing it sensitively. It will also be an opportunity to explore the Health Meadow at University Hospital Llandough.
Scythes and tools will be available for sale on the day from Handpowered, please let us know if you would like to be sent a sale list in advance.
